Spring has sprung at Dollywood, and there is no better way to celebrate than with multiple new and exciting musical performances, shows and special character appearances featured at Dollywood’s Flower & Food Festival (April 18 – June 8).
Calling all country music lovers: starting on April 18, you’ll want to head to the Valley Theater to catch seven talented performers in “Forever Country.” This show celebrates the “prime” country of the 80s and 90s with traditional roots and new sounds.
You’ll have the opportunity to hear a variety of musical genres when multiple talented artists take the Chapel Steps throughout the Flower & Food Festival, kicking off with Lauren Jelencovich (April 18 to May 18). Lauren has found great success in opera and her musical theater roles throughout the United States and abroad. The Wilder Flower (May 19 to June 1) blends folk, Americana, bluegrass and old-time influence into a new and fluid sound. Robinella (June 2 to June 8) is an eclectic vocalist and instrumentalist who delights spectators with a mix of old-time, self-styled pop covers, classic country and gospel music. Willow and Jesse, a high-energy bluegrass duo, will make an exclusive appearance on June 6.
Kids will love the refreshed Imagination Playhouse, previously Heartsong Theater, which will bring books “from the page to the stage” starting April 19. Three classic children’s stories from Dolly’s Imagination Library, including “Coat of Many Colors,” “The Little Engine that Could” and “Something Wild” will be featured.
The fabulous butterfly characters, Flit & Flutter, will make a special appearance on Park during the festival in the Market Square area, ready to meet you and your friends and family as you walk through the Park.
May brings flowers and two new shows to the festival, including the special 40th Anniversary Show “Play On.” Take a trip through memory lane by enjoying some of the most loved songs and scenes from 40 years of Dollywood Entertainment starting on May 3 in Pines Theater. A new acapella Group will blend their unique vocals while performing current pop-tempo favorites that will have you clapping and singing along at Back Porch Theater starting on May 19.
There are plenty more fan-favorite shows and performances you can catch during the Flower & Food Festival, including Kingdom Heirs, “From the Heart – The Life and Music of Dolly Parton,” “Heidi Parton’s Kin & Friends,” “Heartsong, The Movie,” “Wild Roots Band” and “Wings of America.”
