Merlin Award-winning magicians The Fercos Brothers headline Dollywood’s KidsFest (June 16-Aug. 6) with “Big Cats & Magic,” a show featuring exotic cats and a variety of extravagant illusions.
“‘Big Cats & Magic’ is the purr-fect show to entertain families at Dollywood’s KidsFest,” Dolly Parton said. “When the Fercos Brothers make those big cats start disappearing, the fur’s sure to fly as folks think their eyes are playing tricks on them!”
The Fercos Brothers share the stage of DP’s Celebrity Theatre with an all-star cast of talented cats including a Bengal tiger, a white Siberian tiger, a lion and a black leopard. The Fercos Brothers, the only illusionists in the world who perform the disappearing tiger trick, won the International Magicians Society’s 2002 Merlin Award for “Most Original Magicians of the Year.” In 2003, the Fercos Brothers were featured on NBC’s “The Apprentice” with Donald Trump. Originally from Czechoslovakia, the Fercos Brothers, Tony and Ferdinand, are 30-year entertainment veterans and sixth generation performers.
Dollywood’s summertime entertainment lineup also includes the return of Emily Elizabeth and the gang for a brand new production of “Clifford the Bid Red Dog™ LIVE.” Audiences learn how love transformed Clifford into the BIG red dog in this heartwarming stage show that’s fun for the entire family. In the park’s Adventures in Imagination area, SpongeBob SquarePants™ turbo action ride offers an exciting action-packed adventure under the sea while Jest in Time Circus of Fools starring Topper Todd and Li Li Zucchini entertain with crazy antics and amazing stunts. Three popular children’s classics—“The Little Engine That Could,” “Officer Buckle and Gloria” and “My Lucky Day”—come to life in 20-minute sing-along musicals as Penguin Group (USA) presents Dolly’s Imagination Playhouse. In a special video-taped performance, Dolly performs songs she wrote especially for each musical. Dollywood also hosts the national premiere of VeggieTales® new video Larry Boy & the Bad Apple beginning July 1. Dollywood’s Valley Exhibition Hall is transformed into a hands-on, children’s creative activity center featuring Kid Concoctions-themed projects that use everyday household goods to create inexpensive arts and crafts. Also Speed Stacks bring sport stacking, one of the fastest growing sports in the country, to Dollywood this summer. Sport stacking is an individual and team sport where participants stack and “unstack” 12 specially designed plastic cups in pre-determined sequences.
