PIGEON FORGE, Tenn.—Dollywood’s National Music & Harvest Celebration continues this weekend with free concerts by Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Julie Roberts, the Galloways and Gold City.
Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver perform two shows each on Oct. 8 & 9 at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. in DP’s Celebrity Theatre. Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver has performed bluegrass and gospel music for 25 years. The group was named the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) Vocal Group of the Year for the past four years. They are nominated for seven IBMA Awards, including vocal group of the year, at this year’s ceremonies on Oct. 27 at the Ryman Auditorium.
Former Dollywood performer Julie Roberts takes the Festival Amphitheatre stage for two concerts on Oct. 8 & 9 at 3:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. Roberts is nominated for the Horizon Award at this year’s Country Music Association Awards. Her debut album on Capitol Records features the hit single “Break Down Here” and was recently certified gold for sales in excess of 500,000 copies. Robert is the voice behind Good Morning America’s “Good to Go” campaign on ABC.
The Galloways, known for their signature song “When I Get Up to Heaven,” perform three concerts at 2:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. & 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 8 in Dollywood’s Showstreet Palace Theatre. The Galloways feature the vocal talents of husband/wife duo Earl and Scharlene, their daughter Brittany, and Jarrod Vanderslice. Their newest recording is entitled The Times of Our Lives.
Gold City completes the weekend entertainment with two concerts in Dollywood’s Showstreet Palace Theatre on Oct. 9 at 3:30 p.m. & 5:30 p.m. The group also performs two concerts on Oct. 10 in DP’s Celebrity Theatre at 3:30 p.m. & 5:30 p.m. During 25 years of performing, Gold City has claimed more than 60 Singing News Fan Awards and one Dove Award as well as induction into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. The group’s latest album is entitled Heaven.
All concerts are included with Dollywood admission. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
