On May 9, 2009, Dollywood unveiled Sha-Kon-O-Hey!—Land of Blue Smoke, the newest, most elaborate stage show in the theme park’s 24-year history. A musical journey guided by eight songs written by Dolly Parton, the $1.3 million stage show features a cast of eight singers/dancers, ten acrobats and a six-piece band with fully orchestrated accompaniment. A 45-minute show, Sha-Kon-O-Hey! takes audiences to the heart of the Smoky Mountains to celebrate the people, music and heritage of this great land! |
| Dollywood is home to world-renowned roller coasters. Thunderhead is a two-time winner of the Golden Tickets’ Best Wooden Coaster Award. The $17.5 million Mystery Mine steel coaster, the only one of its kind in the country, was named 2007’s Best New Themed Attraction by Theme Park Insider. |
