Schools: Choral & Band Performances
Much to the delight of our guests, Dollywood welcomes numerous visiting school bands and choral groups throughout the season. If you are looking for a performance venue for your school band or choir, consider bringing them to Dollywood!
School Group Performance Guidelines
Pre-Arrival
- Due to the nature and atmosphere of Dollywood, all directors are required to send a short recording of their performance group along with a photograph at the time of application. Dollywood reserves the right to declare which performance groups are approved. Please send recording and application as soon as possible, as space is limited.
- A group reservation must be made through Dollywood's Group Sales Office at least 14 days in advance of visit. Call toll free 1-888-428-6789 to make a reservation (ask for the Performing Groups Representative). If you have previously made your group reservation, a confirmation will be sent for the group admission. Performing group's admission is based on the applicable group rate.
- You will receive information on your performance time prior to your arrival. All performance times will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis.
Wardrobe
- Groups must be attired in appropriate performance wardrobe. Matching shirts (no offensive language, slogans allowed) with name of band or school worn tucked into bottoms. Shorts or pants: no hip hugger, low rider or excessively large or small pants/shorts to be worn.
- Dollywood will not be providing a changing facility.
Arrival
- Buses will be instructed to park in Dollywood's motorcoach parking lot.
- For groups that need to pick up their tickets, the contact (only) will proceed to the groups ticket window. Entertainment schedules and park maps will be given at that time.
- Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled performance for equipment set-up. A Dollywood representative will greet your bus and escort the band to a warm up practice area (if desired).
- Equipment cases are to remain on the bus.
- It is recommended that tickets for parents and guests of the group be distributed before the group enters the park to perform. After the performance, guests should exit and have hand stamped for re-entry into the park if they wish to accompany group to motorcoach lot.
Performance
- The Dollywood representative will then escort your group to the performance area inside the park. The venue is outside with no cover.
- Sorry, no technical equipment will be provided by Dollywood (i.e. risers, music stands or chairs).
- Electric can be provided for groups that bring an extension cord.
- March in will be in either single line or double line.
- In the event of inclement weather, Dollywood reserves the right to cancel performance.
- A school banner with name and city is welcomed and encouraged.
- Music is to be an upbeat arrangement and performance should not exceed 20 minutes.
- Gymnastic stunts and/or fire batons are not permitted.
- After the performance, the Dollywood representative will escort the band group back to the motorcoach parking lot where instruments will be stored on the bus.
- Groups performing during Dollywood's Festival of Nations are required to perform some "international" numbers.
- Having sheet music secured in a binder with sheet protectors is helpful for the students' performance.
